Volume 3 in a ongoing Japanese Avant-Garde Cassette Reissue Series. The 80s as well as early 90s saw a good understanding of fascinating as well as exiting element expelled on cassette in a Tokyo underground. While some of a some-more noise-orientated stuff enjoyed a modicum of international distribution, a avant-garde element in all did not. This series, whose first release was Iro / Tamafuri (PSFD-180), aims to rescue a most appropriate of this element from chronological oblivion.

Schitosoma Japonica (AKA Nihon Juketsu Kyuchu) were a burst avant-garde, recording-only offshoot of a freeform rock rope Amanita. Formed around 1990, a organisation lived a communal life in Saitama, on a northern borders of Tokyo, experimenting with music, sorcery as well as psychological experiments. "Our simple opening style was utterly freeform, utilizing prepared instruments as well as rejecting unchanging rhythms as well as melodic development. Our abiding themes were information exchnage with a afterlife/cosmos as well as a manifestation of paranormal accidents. We would jam endlessly until our opening space was filled with a 'signs of blood as well as feverish becomings'. For us, opening was a kind of ritual."

The organisation expelled a purchase of barely distributed cassettes in tiny editions. This CD compiles a most appropriate of them, sifting through a detritus of a technological multitude to float in between noise, drone as well as ritualized avant-garde gestures.

Eight tracks, fifty-four minutes. Liner notes in English as well as Japanese.

This calm has passed through fivefilters.org.
